Each piece is handmade by a family-run boutique company based in the Philippines. Established nearly 40 years ago in the little island of Cebu, where local artisans are known for their remarkable shell-inlay skills. They produce exceptional bespoke pieces for VIP’s, including an extensive collection of furniture and accessories for the King Hassan II of Morocco. Today they employ over 50 specialised artisans, focusing on offering custom-made high-quality accessories and furniture with using exceptional materials, including exotic skins such as stingray, parchment (goat skins), python, tropical shells and luxurious woods (ebony, palm wood).

The stingray skins are all ethically sourced from Indonesia and are 100% sustainable. The fishing methods are closely monitored by the Government of Indonesia. All the skins come with a BFAR certificate. It is important to note that all the skins used in production are strictly a by-product of the food industry. The bone detailing is sourced from the local farms and is also a by-product of the food industry.

Like any other leather or natural material, Shagreen is vulnerable to oil or wine stains. In case of any spillage, wipe immediately with a dry cloth. Do not use any chemical or corrosive cleaning products on the skins. Do not place your items in direct exposure to sunlight or in proximity to any heat sources (fireplace, candlelight, heaters etc) or directly under an air-conditioning vent.
